This shrub has a short woody stem with many ascending woolly branches that form a compact rounded habit. It has hairy grey green needle-like leaves and the pinkish to green tube-shaped flowers appear amongst the foliage from winter to summer.

Adenanthos cygnorumis naturally found in south-west Western Australia on the coast and inland from Perth to Geraldton growing on sandplains or in mallee and Jarrah forest.
It prefers an open to expose sunny to semi-shaded position and grows in very well drained poor to moderately fertile sandy gravelly to clay loam with a pH range of 5.5-8.5. It prefers a Mediterranean climate and is drought, salt laden wind and light frost tolerant.
The Common Woolly Bush is grown for its bushy habit and its attractive foliage. It is planted in small or arid gardens along borders or as a specimen for attracting birds and can also be grown in large pots or tubs when young. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and establishes in 2-3 years but may be short lived. This shrub may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery. ID 3819
