This medium sized tree has a grey fibrous bark and semi-pendulous branches that form a rounded crown. It has a dull grey green broad lance-shaped leaves and the creamy flowers appear in a small cluster amongst the foliage in early summer.

Weeping Box is grown for its attractive pendant crown and its flowers. It is planted in small or sub-tropical gardens as a specimen for attracting birds or plant along borders for screening. It is also used in seasonally arid gardens or planted in public places. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and establishes in 3-5 years and is moderately long lived.
