This small shrub has many upright spreading branches that form an open rounded habit. It has dark green needle-like leaves crowded along the stems and the bright yellow daisy-like flowers appeared profusely in large clusters during spring.

Verticordia chrysanthais naturally found in south-west Western Australia from Geraldton in the north and spreading inland and south to Esperance appearing in a variety of habitats from the Esperance Plains to the Geraldton sandplans and growing amongst mallee on undulating plains.

It prefers an open to exposed sunny position and grows in very well drained, poor, sandy-gravelly soils or deep yellow sand and is drought and light frost tolerant.

Yellow Featherflower is grown for its flowers and its bushy habit. It is planted in small or native gardens along front borders or in rockeries. It is also planted in patio pots and planter boxes or used in arid gardens. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and establishes in 2-3 years but may be short lived. The flowers can be cut and used in floral arrangements and the shrub prefers a Mediterranean climate and may be difficult to grow in the humid eastern states (grafted forms are available). ID 3801
