This medium sized tree has a light brown trunk with spreading branches and forms a rounded crown. It has glossy dark green lanced-shaped leaves and the tiny fluffy white cup-shaped flowers appear in a terminal cluster in spring followed by capsular fruit.

Syzygium alatoramulumis naturally found in Australia growing in north-east Queensland between Windsor Tableland and Mt. Bartle Frere in rainforest commonly along creeks from an altitude of 50 m (164 ft) to 1,000 m (3,280 ft).
It prefers a sunny to semi-shaded wind protected position and grows in well drained organic rich moist soils that are tending acidic and is frost and drought tender.
The Tinkering Satinash is grown for its colourful fruit and its fluffy flowers. It is planted in small gardens along borders for screening or used in rainforest settings. It is also planted around water ponds or creeks and used as a lawn specimen. It is suitable for coastal and low-mountain regions and establishes in 3-5 years. It is a bushy shrub but develops into a poorly shaped small tree and is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtain. ID 3761
