This stemless perennial succulent has spreading foliage and forms a procumbent habit. It has thick fleshy blue-green spineless broad lanced-shaped leaves and the coral-red to yellow tube-shaped flowers appear in raceme from winter to spring.

Aloe striatais naturally found in South Africa growing in the dry regions of the Western and Eastern Cape provenances on rocky hillsides from the coast to the arid valleys at an altitude from 250m to 2,200m (7,300 ft).
It prefers a very well drained moderately fertile sandy-stony soil in an open to exposed sunny position and is frost and drought tolerant.
Coral Aloe is grown for its flowers and its attractive foliage. It is planted in small or arid gardens along front borders or used in sunny rockeries. It is also planted in patio pots and planter boxes or used in roof gardens and is suitable for coastal and low-mountain regions. It establishes in 3-5 years and is moderately long lived.
