This shrub has a short stem with many ascending branches that form a compact bushy habit. It has light green leathery oblong leaves and the small pink tube-shaped flowers appear in a globular head above the foliage from spring to early summer.

Isopogon latifolius iis naturally found in south-west Western Australia near Albany on the southern coast growing on the Esperance plains amongst mallee on rocky slopes and hilltops.
It prefers an open to expose sunny to semi-shaded position and grows in very well-drained poor to moderately fertile sandy-stony soil with a pH range of 6.0 to 8.0. It is frost and drought tolerant but dislikes hot humid summers.
The Stirling Range Cone Flower is grown for its flowers and its dense bushy habit. It is planted in small arid gardens along borders for screening or as a specimen in a garden bed. It is also planted in coastal gardens and prefers a Mediterranean climate. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and establishes in 3-4 years and is long lived.
