This mallee has a single or multiple smooth white to greyish trunks and spreading branches that form a rounded crown. It has leathery glossy dark green broad lance-shaped leaves and the creamy white flowers appear in a cluster from spring to summer.

Eucalyptus kitsonianais a naturally found in Australia growing in Victoria from Wilsons Promontory to Foster, southern Otways and the far south-west on wet soils but is rare in its native habitat.

It prefers an open sunny position and grows in well to moderately drained organic rich soil that is tending acidic or alkaline and tolerates light frost, salt laden winds and drought.

The Gippsland Mallee is grown for its attractive bark and its small habit. This plant in small gardens along damp borders as a specimen or used in bushland settings. It is also grown as a street tree under power lines tolerating a regular prune (coppices well). It is suitable coastal and inland regions and establishes in 3-4 years and is moderately long lived.

It is ideal for a waterlogged position attracting native birds and can be used as a windbreak. It can also be grown in large planter boxes and can be trained with a single or multiple trunks. ID 3608

Note:
The white and grey smooth bark peels away in ribbons from the branches and is persisted at the base. This tree may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery.
