This stoloniferous shrub has upright slender arching branched stems that form a compact bushy habit. It has mid-green oblong toothed leaves and the white feathery flowers appear in a cluster during spring.

The Alabama Snow-wreath is grown for its flowers and a bushy habit. It is planted in parks and gardens along borders as a specimen and is used in woodland settings. In a natural setting the flowers are pure white but under cultivation they tend to be cream-coloured.
