This herbaceous rhizomatous perennial has a slender reddish stems and forms a clump. It has bluish green soft textured linear leaves and the greenish yellow cup-shaped flowers appear in a rounded cluster above the foliage from late spring to early summer.

Euphorbia cyparissiasis naturally found from western to central and southern Europe growing on coastal headlands or dunes and along the roadsides, pastures and meadows commonly associated with dry gravelly soil. It also is rudely disturbed soil that has naturalised in North America where it is regarded as weed.

It prefers an open to expose sunny position and grows in well-drained poor to moderately fertile sandy stony soils. It tolerates drought, air pollution, deer, rabbits and frost becoming dormant during cold periods.

Cypress Spurge is grown for its flowers and clumping habit. It is planted in small cottage garden along borders all mass planted woodland setting as a ground cover. It is also grown in patio pots and planter boxes that are suitable for coastal, inland and low-mountain regions.

It establishes in 1-2 years and can be invasive under ideal conditions and can be reguarded as a weed. This easy to grow perennial is also planted in rockeries or used in coastal settings tolerant salt laden winds. ID 3533
