This stoloniferous herbaceous perennial suckers freely with upright foliage and forms a clump. It has glossy mid-green divided lobed leaves and the yellow centred nodding white flowers appear above the foliage from mid-spring to early summer.

Anemone sylvestrisis naturally found in central and western Europe growing in meadows and amongst dry deciduous woodland from sea level to an altitude of 2500 m (7,500 ft).

It prefers a semi-shaded to dappled light protected position but will tolerate full sun and grows in well drained organic rich moist soils that are tending acidic with a pH 5.5-6.8 and is frost, drought, rabbit and deer resistant and spreads rapidly by suckers.

The Snowdrop Anemone is grown for its spreading habit and flowers. It is planted small cottage or alpine gardens along the borders or used as a ground cover. It is also planted in woodland settings and is suitable for coastal and low-mountain regions.
