This evergreen perennial has a woody base and dense foliage that forms a clump. It has glossy dark green broad spoon-shaped leaves and the tiny purplish tube-shaped flowers appear in a compact rounded head above the foliage during late spring.

Globularia nudicaulisis naturally found in european alpine areas from northern Spain to Bosnia appearing in a rock outcrops and in the adjoining grasslands at an altitude from 900 m to 2000 m (6,000 ft).

It prefers an open sunny to exposed position and grows in very well-drained moderately fertile sandy-stony soils with a pH 5.5-8 and is frost tolerant but drought tender.

The Globe Daisy is grown for its flowers and spreading habit. It is planted rockeries as a spill-over or used as a ground cover between stepping stones. It is suitable for inland and low-mountain regions establishing from division in 2-3 years but may be short lived. It is also used in small or alpine gardens and may be grown in patio pots or planter boxes for summer colour. This perennial prefers a cool moist position and should not be allowed to dry out.
