This perennial has fleshy bulbs with upright stems that form a small clump. It has pointed long-linear blue-green leaves and the solitary pendant reddish-green bell-shaped flowers appear amongst the foliage during spring.

Fritillaria acmopetalais a naturally found from Cyprus to Syria, southern Turkey and Lebanon growing in open meadows, Pinewood fields and woodlands, commonly in stony places from sea level to an altitude of 2,300m (7000 ft).
It prefers an open sunny to partially shaded wind protected position and grows in most well-drained fertile moist soils and is ph adaptable.
The Cyprian Missionbells is grown for its pendant flowers and clumping habit. It is plant in small gardens along the front borders or in rockeries and is naturalised in woodland settings. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and establishes in 2-4 years and is moderately long-lived. This perennial may also be grown in patio pots or planter boxes. ID 3440

During the summer dormancy period of bulbs should be kept dry as they are prone to rot in a wet soils.
