This perennial has slender upright greyish branched stems that form an open rounded habit. It has aromatic grey green thread-like leaves and the pink to orange tube-shaped flowers appear in a long terminal spike from a mid-summer to autumn.

Agastache rupertrisis naturally found in North America from south-eastern Arizona to south-western New Mexico extending to northern Chihuahua growing on mountain slopes at an altitude from 1,600 m (5000 ft) to 2,300 m (7000 ft).
It prefers an open sunny position, tolerating hot conditions and grows in poor to moderately fertile very well-drained sandy-stony soils with a pH 6.0-7.2 and is frost tolerant but drought tender.
