This large palm-like cycad has a darkish trunk with persistent leaf bases and has a woolly crown with many spreading glossy dark green divided fronds with linear leaflets. It produces green-orange male and broad female cones on separate plants in summer.

Macrozamia fraseriis naturally found in south-west Western Australia from Enneabba south to Perth growing in the Geraldton sandplains and the Swan Coastal Plain in shrubland or heath.
It prefers an open to exposed sunny position but will tolerate some shade and grows in very well drained, poor deep sandy soils and is drought and cold tolerant but dislikes hot humid summers preferring a Mediterranean climate.
This Cycad is grown for its stately habit and attractive foliage. It is planted in parks and large gardens as a specimen or in group paintings around a water feature and in the understory of forest. It is suitable coastal regions and establishes in 4-6 years and is long lived. It is also used in commercial landscapes requiring little care once established and is ideal for public places tolerating neglect. ID 3340

This cycad may be difficult to cutting outside its native region requiring a specialist nursery.
