This small shrub has spreading arching branches that form a compact mounded habit. It has soft grey green lanced-shaped leaves and the red to orange or yellow tube-shaped flowers appear in a raceme amongst the foliage from a winter to late spring.

Grevillea saccatais naturally found in south-west Western Australia were it is confined to a small region in the northern kwongan from Hill River to Mullering Brook north of Perth.
It grows in open heath or eucalypt woodland and occasionally around low swampy areas on the coast and slightly inland. It prefers an open to expose sunny position and grows in well drained poor to moderately fertile sandy gravelly or clay loam that is tending acidic with a pH range from 6 to 7. It is drought and light frost tolerant but dislikes poorly drained soil or cold wet climates.
The Pouched Grevillea is grown for its scrambling-trailing habit and its colourful flowers. It is planted in parks and gardens as a ground cover or as a spill-over above retaining walls. It has also grown in rockeries and used in patio pots and planter boxes.
This shrub is suitable coastal or inland regions and establishes in 2-3 years but may be short lived under humid conditions, preferring a Mediterranean climate. It has been successfully cultivated in the humid eastern states are many years and is readily available at nurseries. ID 3335
