This sprawling shrub has spreading woody branches that form an open habit. It has small dark green needle-like leaves and the tiny yellowish green tube-shape flowers appear towards the end of the branches from winter to spring.

Verticordia helichrysanthais naturally found in the lower south-west Western Australia growing near Albany in coastal regions and on the adjoining cliffs. It prefers well drained moderately fertile sandy-stony soil in an open to exposed position and is salt spray tolerant.
Barrens Feather Flower is grown for its flowers and a bushy habit. It is planted in coastal gardens or containers and is suitable for rockeries. The flowers are also used in floral arrangements but the plant may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery. ID 3327
