Verticordia grandisis naturally found in Western Australia from Perth to Geraldton growing in heathlands (Kwongan), shrublands and occasionally woodlands along the coast and inland.

It requires very well drained moderately fertile white, grey or yellow sandy soil in a open to exposed sunny position and is drought and light frost tolerant and fire resistant.

The Scarlet Feather Flower is grown for its flowers and foliage. It is planted in small gardens along borders in a raised bed if required to improve drainage or in rockeries and is used in containers. It is suitable for coastal regions with a dry summer and establishes in 2-3 years and is long lived. The flowers and foliage are commonly used in floral arrangements and have a short vase life of 10 days but dried flowers, persistent some time. ID 3326

Note
In their native habitat they may be long lived up to 100 years with the aid of a lignotuber and older plants, tolerate light prune to thicken up.
