Eucalyptus marginatais naturally found in south-west Western Australia growing predominantly in a region that are 30 to 50 km wide at an altitude of 100 to 300 m (1,000 ft) along the Darling Range from Perth to Albany in the south. It also grows on the dry eastern side of the Darling Ranges where it becomes progressively smaller.

It prefers a warm semi-humid climate with wet winters and grows in deep well drained moderately fertile red-gravelly to sandy solis in a protected sunny position and is drought and frost tolerant.

Jarrah is grown for its stately habit, flowers and timber. It is planted in parks and large gardens as a lawn specimen or used in forest settings. It is suitable for coastal or low-mountain regions and establishes in 4-7 years and can live for up to 500 years. The timber is used in construction and honey is derived from bees pollinating flowers. This tree is not suitable for domestic gardens, as it has deep strong roots that may damage pathways or pipes.ID 3315
