This large tree has an upright trunk with rough fibrous grey bark and ascending spreading branches that form a dense crown. It has dull green lance-shaped leaves and produces clusters of creamy white flowers from summer to autumn.

Eucalyptus gomphocephalais naturally found in south-west Western Australia from Busselton extending to Perth. It grows in a restricted belt of land near the coast behind the sand dunes and extends inland, tending to follow the rivers to 30 m (100 ft) above sea level.
It grows in very well drained moist sandy lime based soils that are moderately fertile in a open sunny position and is drought, frost and salt tolerant.
Tuart is grown for its upright spreading habit and is planted in parks and large gardens as a lawn specimen or along water courses in rural settings. It is suitable for coastal regions establishing in 3-5 years and is long lived. It is also planted along avenues or as a wind break and shade tree. ID 3312
Note:
Its habit is variable and in the northern reaches it attains a high of only 15 m (45ft) occurring in woodlands or open forests on shallow yellow or brown sandy soils with a limestone base.
