This shrub has a woody stem without lignotuber and spreading branches that form a compact, bushy habit. It has dark green needle-like pungent leaves and the pale yellow flower heads appear over the plant, during late autumn.

Banksia laricinais naturally found in Western Australia between Kalbarri and Moore River growing in low woodlands or in sandy flats. It prefers a well-drained deep sandy soil that is moderately fertile and grows in an open sunny position and is drought and light frost tolerant.
The Rose Banksia is grown for its yellow flowers and bushy habit. It is planted in small gardens along borders or used in rockeries as a specimen, attracting birds. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions establishing in 2-3 years and is moderately long lived.
After fire the plant dies and regenerates from seed. It is not currently threatened in the wild but the fruit is harvested as a novelty, putting the plant at risk in its natural environment. ID 3294
