Camassia cusickii is naturally found in North America growing in north-east Oregon in damp fertile meadows. It prefers an open sunny position and grows in well drained but moist fertile soils and is frost tolerant but drought tender.
This perennial is grown for its flowers and is planted in herbaceous borders or rockeries. It is suitable for inland regions establishing from division in 1-2 years. It is also grown in wildflower gardens tolerating dryer conditions and the flowers may be cut for floral arrangements. Care should be taken not to waterlog the soil as the bulbs rot.ID 3204
