This variable deciduous tree has a trunk with brown to grey-white peeling bark and ascending branches that form a broad conical habit. It has dark green ovate toothed leaves that turn yellow in autumn and the male and female flowers appear in spring.

The Himalayan White Birch is grown for its habit and bark. It is planted in parks and large gardens as a specimen tree or used in woodland settings. It is suitable for mountainous regions and establishes in 3-5 years. This tree is not commonly cultivated and may only be seen in botanical collections.
