This shrub to small tree has an upright fibrous brown trunk with ascending branches that form a rounded crown. It has dark green leathery linear leaves and the small pink tube-shaped flowers appear in a cluster during early spring.

Hakea multilineatais naturally found throughout south-west Western Australia growing in low sclerophyll shrubland. It prefers a very well drained sandy gravely soil that is moderately fertile in an open sunny to protected positions and is frost and drought tolerant.
The Grass-leaf Hakea is grown for its upright habit and flowers. It is planted along borders in small native gardens for screening or as a specimen to attract birds. It is suitable for inland regions establishing in 2-3 years and is moderately long lived.
