This shrub has upright dark multiple stems that form a bushy habit. It has grey green oblong leaves with spiny tip margins and the pinkish red tube-shape flowers appear in a rounded terminal cluster from winter to summer.

Grevillea insignisis naturally found in central south-western Western Australia growing on hill tops in scrubland and heathland. It prefers a well drained moderately fertile dry gravelly, sandy loam in an open to exposed sunny position and is frost and drought tolerant.

The Wax Grevillea is grown for its flowers and spreading habit. It is used in arid gardens or rockeries as a specimen or planted in a low shrub borders for flower colour. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions tolerating hot dry conditions and establishing in 2 to 3 years and is moderately long lived. This plant may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery and is equally difficult to grow.ID 3182

It is difficult to grow under cultivation requiring perfect drainage and minimal water and dies readily after the application of fertilisers or excessive moisture.
