This small lignotuberous shrub has an upright stem with spreading branches that form compact rounded habit. It has blue green needle-like leaves and the bright red tube shaped flowers appear in a terminal raceme from a winter to early summer.

Grevillea wilsoniiis naturally found in south-west Western Australia appearing in a restricted region of the Darling Ranges from Bindoon to Yarloop and extending inland as to Williams. It grows in tall woodlands (Jarrah forest) or tall and low sclerophyll shrubland with a hot dry summer and a cool wet winter, (Mediterranean climate).

It prefers an opened to a protected sunny to semi-shade position and grows in well-drained poor, sandy-gravelly soil with the clay base that is tending acidic or just straight sand. It is mildly frost and drought tolerant and regenerate from the lignotuber after fire.

Native Fuchsia is grown for its bright red flowers and it is a shrubby habit. It is planted in parks and gardens in groups along borders or as a specimen. It has also used in patio tubs and planter boxes and is an ideal bird haven.

It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and establishes in 3-4 years and is moderately long lived. The shrub has been cultivated for many years in the humid eastern Australia states and in California and prefers a Mediterranean climate. It is also grown for screening and is painted in public places as a pedestrian barrier. ID 3171
