This erect shrub has a short woody stem with spreading branches that form a dense rounded habit. It has dark green elliptical leaves and the red-pinkish or yellowish tube-shaped flowers appear in a nodding raceme from spring to midsummer.

Grevillea victoriaeis naturally found in Australia from Victoria to south-eastern New South Wales and the ACT, extending to the sub alpine areas of the Snowy Mountains near Tumut. It commonly grows in wet sclerophyll in mountainous regions along ridges or on rocky slopes and along creek margins, extending to coastal heath.

It prefers an open to exposed sunny to semi-shaded position and grows in well-drained moist moderately fertile sandy-stony clay loams that a tending acidic. It is frost and moderately drought tolerant but some forms dislike humid conditions.

Royal Grevillea is grown for its long-lasting flowers, adaptability and its dense bushy habit. It is planted in parks and gardens along borders for screening or as a specimen for attracting birds.

It is also used in alpine gardens tolerate cold conditions or is mass planted on embankments. It is suitable mountainous and coastal regions and establishes in 3-4 years and is long-lived.
