This epiphytic perennial has a spreading habit with fleshy stems that have aerial roots. The large emerald-green velvet-textured heart-shaped leaves have greenish-silver veins and the long slender flower (spadix) appears throughout the year on a tall stem.

Crystal Anthurium is grown for its foliage and is planted in the understorey of tropical gardens as an epiphyte on fallen logs for foliage contrast.
