This shrub to small tree has upright spreading branches that form a rounded crown. It has glossy dark green oblong leaves and the fragrant white tube-shaped flowers appear directly from the branches or trunk in clusters during late spring.

Phaleria clerodendronis naturally found in Australia from Queensland to the Northern Territory growing in sub-tropical rainforests in well drained organic rich moist soils. It prefers an open sunny to protected position and is frost, wind and drought tender.

Scented Daphne is grown for its glossy foliage and its fragrant flowers. It is planted in sub-tropical gardens or rainforest settings along borders for screening or as a specimen. It establishes in 3 to 4 years and is suitable for coastal and low-mountain regions. ID 2956
