This perennial herb has slender soft yellowish stems that root at the nodes and forms a compact spreading clump. It has glossy bright green spoon-shaped leaves and the small white fan-shaped flowers appear from spring to autumn.

Selliera radicansis naturally found from New Zealand to Australia and Chile in South America growing in coastal mud flats or along creeks and around lakes or ponds from sea level to an altitude of 1000m (3000ft).
It prefers a wet to boggy fertile soil but will tolerate most well drained moist soils and grows in an open sunny to shaded position and is drought tender but salt spray and frost tolerant.
The Swamp Weed is grown for its spreading habit and is planted in small gardens as a ground cover or as a lawn replacement and may be used in containers. It is also planted around water features or stepping stones and establishes in 1 to 2 years. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions it is an ideal plant for a wet shaded position. ID 2862
