This shrub to small tree has spreading brittle branches covered in buffed tomentose and forms a bushy rounded habit. It has large dull green wavy-edged oblong leathery leaves and the tiny fragrant cream flowers appear in a large cluster during spring.

Brachyglottis repandais naturally found in New Zealand growing in the North Island and upper South Island along the coast in scrubland and in lowland forest margins.
It tolerates most well drained moderately fertile moist soils but dislikes wet soil in an open to exposed windy sunny to shaded position with high humidity and is drought and light frost tolerant.
Rangiora is grown for its foliage and fragrant flowers. It is planted in shrub borders for screening or as a background plant and is used as a small specimen tree in courtyards. It is suitable coastal or inland regions but may be difficult to establishin 3 to 4 years and is ideal for shaded positions. ID 2853
