This twining vine has grey pliable woody stems that have a few branches and form an open habit. It has glossy green divided leaves with oblong leaflets and the deep pink narrow funnel-shaped flowers appear in large pendant clusters during summer.

Tecomanthe dendrophilais naturally found from Indonesia to New Guinea and the Solomon Islands growing in rainforests amongst the trees and shrubs.

It prefers a sunny protected position with the roots in the shade and grows on well drained organic rich moist soil and is drought and very frost tender.

The Pink Trumpet Vine is grown for its spectacular flowers and its twinning habit. It is planted in tropical gardens over structures or in trees as a specimen or against a wall with support. It is suitable for coastal and low-mountain regions establishing in 3 to 4 years and is long lived. It is also grown as a potted specimen under glass in cold climates. ID 2836
