This rhizomatous laevigatae iris has tall upright branched stems and forms a clump. It has mid green long linear leaves and the yellow beardless saucer-shaped flowers appear in clusters high amongst the foliage from spring to summer.

Iris pseudacorusis naturally found from Europe to a western Siberia, Caucasus, Turkey to Iran and northern Africa growing in damp places in or beside ponds or along water courses. It prefers an open sunny position with some wind protection and grows in well drained to wet organic rich, fertile soils that are tending acidic and is frost tolerant but drought tender.
