This rhizomatous perennial has short stems and forms a clump. It has divided mid green leaves with wrinkled kidney-shaped leaflets and the bright yellow bell-shaped nodding flowers appear in open clusters on a long stem from spring to summer.

Geum bulgaricumis naturally found in the Balkans growing in mountainous regions or in meadows commonly along creeks. It prefers well drained humus rich moist soils in an open sunny position and is drought tender but frost tolerant.

This perennial is grown for its flowers and its clumping habit. It is planted in small gardens and rockeries as a specimen or mass planted to form a ground cover. It is also used in containers and is suitable for low-mountain regions. It establishes from division in 2 to 3 years. ID 2808
