This deciduous shrub has upright branched stems that form an open habit. It has dark green heart-shaped toothed leaves and the tiny trumpet-shaped white flowers appear in terminal cluster from late spring to early summer.

Viburnum dilatatumis naturally found from Japan to China growing in woodlands in well drained moderately fertile moist slightly acidic soils but will tolerate higher pH soils. It prefers an open sunny position with some shade in warmer climates (zone 9) and is frost tolerant but drought tender.

The Linden Viburnum is grown for its flowers, colourful fruit and its autumn foliage. It is planted in gardens and parks along borders or as a specimen and may be trimmed to form an informal hedge.
