This epiphytic perennial has fleshy green stems and forms a clump habit. It has semi-gloss dark green pointed oblong leaves and flowers are arranged in a spadix that is held above the foliage appearing during spring.

Anthurium subsignatumis naturally found in South America growing in northern Costa Rica from sea level to an altitude of 200m (600ft) in the rainforest understory.
It grows on tree branches or fallen trees in humus rich moist well drained composted soils and prefers a semi shaded to shaded position with wind, frost and drought protection.
This perennial is grown for its foliage and is planted in the understorey of tropical gardens or grown as a glasshouse specimen establishing in 1 to 2 years from cuttings. It is suitable for coastal and mountain regions.ID 2655
