This prickly shrub has a short greyish trunk with angular branches that form an open round crown. It has dark green sharply pointed linear lobes and that the orange red tube-shaped flowers appeared in a nodding raceme from winter to spring.

Grevillea treuerianais naturally found in a restricted region on Mt Finke in South Australia and is listed as endangered under high risk of extinction in the wild.
It appears in rock crevices on hillsides and in cliffs preferring a hot dry summer with a cool slightly moist winter in an open to exposed sunny position. It grows in poor very well drained sandy stony quartz-based soil and is drought and light frost tolerant.
The Mount Finke Grevillea is grown for its attractive flowers and its prickly foliage. This plant in small gardens as a specimen attracting birds or used in exposed rockeries. It is also planted in public places as a pedestrian barrier or used in a bushland setting.
It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and establishes in 3-5 years and is long-lived. This shrub can also be grown on roof gardens or in patio pots and planter boxes requiring little care once established. Care should be taken when selecting a site as the foliage is extremely prickly.
