This variable shrub to small tree has a fibrous light brown gnarled trunk with spreading branches that form a rounded crown. It has small blue-green pointed leaves and the small cream bottle-brush like flower head appears from summer to autumn.

Melaleuca lanceolatais naturally found in Australia growing from south-east Queensland to New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia in bushland and mallee country. It prefers a well drained medium to heavy loams that are moderately fertile in an open sunny position and is drought, frost and salt tolerant.

Moonah is grown for its hardiness and its rounded blue-green crown. It is planted in rural settings along dry creek beds or regeneration areaswith saline soilsand in coastal gardens along borders. It establishes in 2 to 3 years and tolerates a wide range of conditions. ID 2615
