This shrub is upright with ridget blue-green leafless stems that have numerious spines and forms a compact rounded habit. It produces bright yellow ball-shaped flowers along the stems from late winter to early spring.

Acacia aphyllais naturally found east of Perth in Western Australia growing in a open sunny position amoungst granite outcrops. It prefers a well drained stony soil with low fertility and is drought tolerant but frost tender.
The Leafless Rock Wattle is grown for its flowers and its bluish stems. It is planted in parks and gardens as a specimen or used in arid gardens along borders. It is suitable for inland regions establishing in 1 to 2 years but may be difficult to obtain. ID 2612
