This variable perennial shrub forms an upright tufted habit with bluish-green strap-like leaves. It may have runners and produces white-yellow star-shaped flowers that appear in woolly clusters on a branched stem above the foliage during spring.

The Prickly Conostylis is grown for its tufted habit and its flowers. It is planted in small gardens against a sunny wall or in rockeries establishing from division in 1 to 2 years. It is also used in cottage gardens along borders or commercial sites along the coast or in inland regions.ID 2606
