This semi-pendant succulent sub-shrub has slender spreading stems and forms a dense cover. It has white frosted grey green spoon-shaped leaves and the small pinkish star-shaped flowers appear in a cluster above the foliage from winter to early spring.

Kalanchoe pumilais naturally found in Madagascar growing on the mountains in dry rocky sites. it prefers an open sunny to exposed positions and grows in well-drained poor to moderately fertile sandy-stony soils with a pH range from 5.5 to 7.5 and is drought, heat and light frost tolerant.

The Flower Dust Plant is grown for its flowers, drought hardiness and is spreading foliage. It is planted in sunny rockeries or used in arid gardens along a front borders or amongst stepping stones. It is also used in hanging baskets with a cascading effect or it used in patio pots and planter boxes.
