This shrub to small tree has an erect trunk with reddish brown fissured bark and spreading branches that form a rounded crown. It has dark green ovate leaves and the small white saucer-shaped flowers appear in clusters during autumn.

Rhodamnia rubescensis naturally found in Australia from the Durras Mountains in the southern New South Wales to Maryborough in Queensland growing on the margins of wet tropical rainforests to dry rainforest predominantly on the coast.
It prefers a well drained sandy to light clay soil that is tending acidic in a sunny to semi shaded open position and is drought and light frost tolerant.
Scrub Turpentine is grown for its foliage and habit. It is planted in rainforest gardens as a filler plant or used along borders in parks or gardens for screening. It is suitable for coastal regions and establishes in 3-5 years and is moderately long lived. The shrub tends to be smaller under cultivation tolerating a variety of environments from wet to dry and may be used as a small tree in commercial sites or car parks. ID 2586

This plant is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery.
