This upright shrub has slender woody branches that form a open bushy habit. It has long dark green leaves that broaden at the apex and the yellow pea-shaped flowers appear in terminal clusters during spring.

It prefers well drained moderately fertile sandy soils in an open sunny to exposed position and is drought, light frost and salt spray tolerant.
