This shrub has slender woody stems that form an open-straggly low habit. It has small dark green oblong pointed leaves arranged along the stems and the small whitish tube-shaped flowers appear singular or in pairs from winter to spring.

It prefers a semi shaded to full sun position tolerating most well drained soils and is frost tolerant but drought tender.
