This perennial succulent has upright-spreading stems that root at the nodes and form a low compact clump. It has fleshy rounded bright green leaves and the tiny white-pink star-shaped flowers appear in clusters from late winter to spring.

Crassula multicavais naturally found in South Africa from northern to eastern Transvaal to Natal growing in very well drained moderately fertile sandy-stony soils in an open to protected semi shaded to full sun position and is drought tolerant, but frost tender.

The Fairy Crassula is grown for its spreading habit and flowers. It is planted in cactus and succulent gardens, rockeries and patio pots as a specimen, groundcover or for borders. It establishes in 1 to 2 years and is suitable for coastal and adjoining tablelands. In cool climates it is grown in bright conservatories. ID 2488
