This suckering shrub has slender spreading woody branches that form an open habit. It has light green prickly linear leaves and the small tube-shaped white flowers appear in clusters during spring.

This shrub is grown for its flowers and is planted in small gardens along borders as low screen. It is suitable for coastal regions and establishes in 2 to 3 years.
