This shrub has on erect stems with spreading pubescent branches that form an open habit. It has dark green divided fern-like leaves and the large yellow flower heads appear terminally on the branches during spring.

Dryandra fraseriis naturally found in south-west Western Australia growing in heath or open forest on the coast and inland.
It prefers a well drained moderately fertile sandy soil in an open sunny position and is drought tolerant but frost tender.
This Dryandra is grown for its flowers and sprawling habit. It is planted in small or native gardens as a specimen or used in rockeries. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions establishing in 2-3 years and is moderately long lived. It may also be grown in patio pots or planter boxes, but is not commonly cultivated in domestic gardens as it dislikes humid wet summers. ID 2461

For the best growth the plant prefers regions of low humidity and hot dry summers.
