Darwinia macrostegiais naturally found in Australia growing on the Sterling Ranges in Western Australia in sandy-stony well drained soils in an open sunny position and is drought and moderately frost tolerant.
The Mondurup Bell is grown for its very attractive flowers and is planted in parks and gardens as a specimen. It is suitable for coastal or mountainous regins and establishes in 2 to 3 years but requires perfect drainage. It is also planted in containers and grafted plants are more successful in the humid eastern states. ID 2457
