This small straggly shrub has glabrous slender reddish stems that form an open habit. It has small dark green rounded leaves and the yellow pea-shaped flowers appear towards the end of the branches during spring.

It prefers an open to protected sunny position on well drained sandy soils and is drought and light frost tolerant.
The Blue Mountains Bossiaea is grown for its flowers and is planted in bushland settings or rockeries as a specimen or along water courses and in low borders. It is suitable for coastal and adjoining tablelands establishing in 2 to 3 years.
Once established it has a low water requirement (Scale: 1-drop from 3), responding to mulch and an occasional deep watering during dry periods, particularly for young plants.ID 2454
