This small shrub has a short trunk with angular branching that forms an open rounded crown. It has dull green lanced-shaped leaves and the bright yellow ball-shaped flowers appear in small clusters during spring.

Acacia obtusatais naturally found in Australia from the central to southern tablelands near Sydney in New South Wales growing in well drained, poor stony-sandy soils in an open sunny position and is frost and drought resistant.
Blunt Wattle is not commonly cultivated but may be used in woodland settings or along water courses in small gardens or parks. It is suitable for shrub borders on the coast or in the adjoining tablelands establishing from seed in 1 to 2 years but is short lived. ID 2448
