This large shrub to small tree has a grey-brown trunk with upright spreading branches that form a rounded bushy habit. It has glossy dark green oblong leaves and the small greenish star-shaped flowers appear in clusters during autumn.

Acronychia imperforatais naturally found in Australia from Queensland to New South Wales growing in lowland rainforest along the coast and in littoral rainforest as an understorey plant.

It grows in a full sun to semi-shade protected position in well drained fertile deep moist sandy rich soils that are tending acid and tolerating salty winds and drought but is frost tender.

Beach Aronychia is grown for its habit and is planted in tropical settings as understorey filler or in shrub borders for screening. It is suitable for coastal and adjoining tableland regions establishing in 3 to 5 years. It is also used in beachside plantings. ID 2390
